Sparta Area School District ELearning Program

The Sparta Area School District (SASD) is now offering online opportunities at all class levels from K-12 to complete coursework and graduation requirements.  These extended opportunities allow students to greater individualize their educational needs according to their current educational choice and post high school plans.  Students enrolled in an online education through the SASD are also eligible to participate in the many co- and extra-curricular activities, clubs and organizations the district offers.

The Sparta Area School District will offer five district developed classes in the 2012-13 school year:  Employability Skills, Personal Finance, Psychology, Health and PE 1 - Healthy Active Lifestyles.  SASD is partnering with the Coulee Online and Distance Learning Consortium to offer these courses as well as a wide variety of classes, including Medical Technology, that have been developed regionally to meet Wisconsin academic and graduation standards.

Additionally, the SASD partners with five accredited online schools:   Wisconsin Virtual School, Calvert , Calvert Verticy, Lincoln Interactive and iForward (formerly Insight School).  These schools offer students the opportunity to fully complete their education  online through comprehensive grade level curriculum or to supplement their coursework with classes such as Game Design, Java Programming, Latin or Chinese.  Wisconsin Virtual School also offers an array of AP (Advanced Placement) courses such as AP Macroeconomics and AP European History to assist and challenge those students who plan to seek a post-secondary degree.
