A new flashing crosswalk sign has been installed on Black River Street between Lawrence-Lawson and Sparta High School. This project was made possible by grant funds awarded to our district by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
The flashing sign will increase safety for our students crossing the street. A crossing guard will still be there. This should be considered the main crossing on Black River Street.
There will no longer be a crossing guard at Black River and Montgomery. That intersection has pedestrian buttons and traffic lights to help students cross.
