Summer break is in its final weeks and I hope you all have a time to enjoy the remainder of the summer prior to the start of the school year on September 1. Our staff has been working hard preparing the buildings and finalizing plans for a great start, and building principals will be getting specific information to families and students as final plans are completed.
As the new Superintendent of SASD, I would like to hear from all of our community members and stakeholders on what they feel are our District’s strengths, challenges, and opportunities for growth through various listening and learning sessions. The purpose of these sessions are to help you learn a little more about who I am, and help me understand different perspectives, ideas, etc. that our stakeholders have. My goal is to do more listening and learn from others, but I will answer questions to the best of my ability, and I might not have the answers immediately available. Here will be the planned sessions:
August 1, 5:00-6:30 p.m. at SHS’s cafeteria
August 3, 4:00-5:30 p.m. at MV’s cafeteria
August 4, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Herrman Elementary’s cafeteria
August 8, 4:30-6:00 p.m. at Sparta Montessori's gym
August 9, 8:00-9:30 a.m. at Southside Early Learning Center’s gym
August 10, 4:30-6:00 p.m. at Cataract Elementary’s gym
Even though these are in all of SASD’s buildings, family members, students, etc. are welcome to attend any of the meetings (not grade level specific). If you are unable to attend, or wish to contact me with your ideas, thoughts, and questions, please feel free to contact me via email or phone, and we will go from there. Once again, I hope you all have a wonderful and safe rest of the summer.
Thanks and Go Spartans!!!
Sam Russ
